Turkey Avocado Bacon Tomato Sandwich
Since the beginning of the new year, I have been trying to be better about actually planning a breakfast and lunch every day. I found without having something designated for lunch, I would eat random things like animal crackers or a piece of cheese and call that lunch …. to be perfectly honest, there have been many days where I just skipped lunch altogether because nothing sounded good. Ever have those days?!
Way back in the beginning of January I decided to be more deliberate with meal planning – and so far, it’s working out pretty well! One of my new favorite sandwiches is this Turkey Avocado Bacon Tomato Sandwich! Not only does it have some of my favorite ingredients, but it tastes delicious and keeps me full until dinner! It’s quick to put together and because I made a good choice at lunch, I don’t feel like a ravenous wolf come dinnertime!
Whole grain bread
Of course, the base of any good sandwich is the bread! Oroweatยฎ Whole Grains 100% Whole Wheat sliced bread is premium bread with a whopping 21g of whole grains per slice! Oroweatยฎ Whole Grains 100% Whole Wheat sliced bread has no high fructose corn syrup or artificial colors or flavoring. That’s something to feel good about, huh?! At 90 calories per slice, Oroweatยฎ Whole Grains 100% Whole Wheat Bread is packed with wholesome goodness, turning your favorite bread into the best version of itself!
I love the pepper turkey but feel free to use smoked turkey or whatever your favorite is! I don’t make open-face sandwiches very often so this is a nice change from our typical sandwiches in the Love Bakes Good Cakes house! Even my kiddos think it’s cool eating a sandwich with one slice of bread! ๐
Let me know your favorite sandwich in the comments – I’m always looking for new ideas!

Turkey Avocado Bacon Tomato Sandwich
Ingredients
- 2 slices Oroweatยฎ Whole Grains 100% Whole Wheat Bread
- 1 medium avocado mashed
- 6 – 8 slices thinly sliced pepper turkey
- 4 slices bacon cooked and broken in half
- 4 slices tomato
Instructions
- Toast bread to desired darkness.
- Divide the mashed avocado between the two slices of toast, spreading evenly. Top each sandwich with 3 or 4 turkey slices. Divide the bacon between the sandwiches. Top each sandwich with 2 tomatoes. Serve immediately.
Notes
- To quickly cook the bacon, I love to use my microwave! Line a plate with several layers of paper towels. Lay 4 slices of bacon on the paper towels. Cover with another paper towel. Microwave on full power until bacon is at desired crispness. (In my microwave, it take about 3 to 3-1/2 minutes!)

Hey Jamie,
I too have been trying to eat healthier this year. I have some good week but just cannot keep it going week after week. One reason for this is I LOVE BREAD. I always have a difficult time choosing a better bread choose. I cannot wait to see if my Walmart or Kroger carries this OREOWEAT.
Many thanks for the tip.
Blessings,
