Sprinkle Cookies Recipe FAQs
For this particular recipe, sprinkles are included in the batter and on the outside.
Since the cookie dough is somewhat wet, the sprinkles easily adhere or can be pressed slightly to adhere.
Yes. They do melt slightly. However, they do firm back up as they cool.
It depends. While some people successfully freeze these types of cookies, others warn against it. Depending on the dye used in the sprinkles, it sometimes leads to bleeding when the cookies are frozen and thawed because of the moisture and condensation.
If you really, really want to freeze these cookies, I suggest double wrapping them in plastic wrap and placing them in a freezer-safe zip-top bag for up to 3-6 months.
To THAW: Leave them in the package they were frozen in and allowing them to thaw overnight in the refrigerator. Transfer the cookies (still in the package) to the counter and allow them to come to room temperature. Carefully remove them from the packaging.
Recipe Tips
- Switch up the color of the sprinkles for other holidays!
- For perfectly evenly sized cookies, I highly suggest a cookie scoop or using a measuring spoon.
- Don’t overmix the dough.
- If baking more than one sheet pan, do not place cookie dough on hot pans. Allow the pan to cool completely before placing more dough.

I just made these for my friend thatโs retiring from the Air Force (she wanted patriotic themed deserts). So glad to have found your recipe!! The cookies are gorgeous and taste amazing!! I love the slight tang from the cream cheese and they are soft & delicious. I did need to bake for 12 minutes (I may have may them slightly larger. I made a double batch and ended up running out of Jimmieโs but even the โnakedโ cookies are delicious!! I will definitely be making these again!! Thank you. ๐
