For this Cream Cheese Mints recipe, you will need …
Ingredients
- cream cheese, butter, and peppermint oil – these ingredients, combined with powdered sugar, make your delicious mint patties!
- powdered sugar – a part of the mint mixture but also what youโll use to coat your fork when you flatten your mints into patties.
- food coloring – optional to add to your mints if you have a special occasion you want to theme them for!
Equipment
- large bowl – for mixing your ingredients.
- wax paper – youโll place your mints on here to dry!
NOTE: You can also use a food processor to make these mints faster!
How to make Party Mints
First, mix your ingredients. In a large bowl, cream the cream cheese and butter until well combined. Mix in the powdered sugar. (Be sure to scrape down the sides at least once!!) Finally, mix in the peppermint oil and the food coloring paste if youโre using it.
Next, make your mints. Sprinkle powdered sugar over the waxed paper to prevent the mint mixture from sticking too much. Then, divide and roll the mixture into small balls and place them on waxed paper. Flatten each ball with a fork dipped in powdered sugar. (You can also press the mint balls into candy molds for cute themed shapes!)
Finally, let the mints dry and enjoy. Let the mints dry for about 2 hours on waxed paper and serve, or freeze/refrigerate them!

The prep time is about 30 minutes, and youโll want to let them dry for at least 2 hours. Itโs not a quick recipe, but itโs totally worth it! On the flip side, as I said, you can use a food processor to speed up the whole process.
They should be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or frozen for up to 2 months.
