S’mores Salted Caramel Apple Nachos – great for snacks or a quick dessert! Think caramel apples, but better!! #12bloggers
S’mores Salted Caramel Apple Nachos
If you enjoy caramel apples, then you are going to looooove this crazy simple variation! My kiddos totally dig these S’mores Salted Caramel Apple Nachos as a dessert or as a fun afternoon snack! I almost hate to call this a recipe …. it’s almost too simple to be called that! It’s more of a method than a recipe.
I made my own Salted Caramel Sauce and Homemade Chocolate Sauce for this recipe, but you could buy either of them (or both of them) store bought to save time if you need to. We used itty-bitty marshmallows in a canister (I found mine near the hot cocoa and coffee aisle) and crumbled up a few graham crackers for this recipe – but we have used regular mini marshmallows and Golden Grahams cereal if we have them on hand. We throw a few mini chocolate chips onto the apple nachos for good measure. You can never have too much chocolate in my opinion! Feel free to use your favorite variety of apples – I like to use a combo of apples just because each of us in the Love Bakes Good Cakes house likes different kinds of apples, plus I kinda dig the color, texture and flavor thing that using a variety gives us.
A perfect snack
I made a huge plate for all of my kiddos to enjoy as a snack, but you could make this on a much smaller scale for one or two people by using just one or two apples. With back-to-school, I know my kiddos will be requesting this S’mores Salted Caramel Apple Nachos recipe often! And really, with how easy this recipe is and because it’s semi-healthy (hey, it has apples!!) – I’m all for it!
Also, this is the 12th of the month, so I’m teaming up with some of my bloggy friends to bring you 12 recipes (apples recipes this month!) all with 12 ingredients or less.
