I don’t know about you but I’m a big fan of snuggling in a blanket with a good book and a hot beverage when the weather starts getting cooler. One of my favorites is hot chocolate. I love creating new flavors, and this pumpkin spice white hot chocolate is going to be your new favorite!
This creamy, pumpkin-spiced drink will beg you to slip into your comfiest clothes and sit in your favorite spot while enjoying every blissful sip. It’s the perfect drink for after all of your favorite fall activities – or serve it as part of your Thanksgiving menu!
This recipe reminds me of some of the fancy fall drinks you would pay lots of money for at Starbucks or some other coffee joint. I love being able to make these kinds of drinks at home! Don’t you?
For this recipe, we combine milk with half and half then add white chocolate chips, pumpkin puree, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, and allspice over a gentle heat. This recipe is so simple and delicious, y’all!
Ingredients
- Whole milk: Feel free to use another type of milk, especially if you are lactose intolerant. I particularly love vanilla almond milk or coconut milk.
- Half and half: Either use more whole milk, switch to heavy cream, or use half heavy cream and half whole milk.
- White chocolate chips: You can also use baking chocolate instead of chocolate chips.
- Pumpkin puree: Make sure you are using 100% pumpkin and not pumpkin pie mix.
- Brown sugar: Granulated white sugar is fine to use instead of brown sugar. Or try another of your favorite sweeteners, like stevia or coconut sugar.
- Pumpkin pie spice: Be sure to check out my homemade version if you don’t have any on hand.
- Cinnamon
- Allspice
- Whipped Cream or marshmallows: for garnish (optional)
Pumpkin Spice White Hot Chocolate FAQs
This hot chocolate doesnโt store very well because the ingredients will separate in the refrigerator. However, you can still keep it in the fridge for up to 4 days, then reheat in the microwave or stovetop and stir the ingredients back together.
If youโd like to make a Hot Chocolate in a slow cooker and keep it warm for hours, follow the instructions below.
1. Place the whole milk, half and half, white chocolate chips, pumpkin puree, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, and allspice in a slow cooker. Stir everything together and then set on low.
2. After 45 minutes, open the slow cooker to stir the melted chocolate until thoroughly combined with the rest of the ingredients.
3. Let the hot chocolate cook in the crockpot for 2 hours and stir every 45 minutes. You can keep it in the crockpot for hours, on low, serving it as needed throughout the day. It works great for potlucks and sledding parties!

- The milk mixture should not come to a boil. The goal is to warm the chocolate and milk slowly for the best texture and consistency.
- Make sure to use a whisk to help break down the chocolate. You should be left with a nice creamy texture. If the hot chocolate still has chunks of chocolate in it, it still needs to be heated.
