These look delicious! It says cooling rack over baking sheet. I take that to mean they need to be suspended so sugar and grease drips away? My cooling racks are coated. Any other method I could use?
Jamie
I have never tried any other way, but you could try crumpled up aluminum foil ropes. Take a few long sheets of foil and crumple them into ropes so the grease and sugar still have a way to drain away and the crackers are above. I hope that helps! If you try it this way, I would love to know if it works since I’ve never actually tried it.
Cathy Burnham Martin
You can also place a rimmed baking sheet on a lower oven rack and place the prepared crackers on an oven rack just above the one with the pan.
Patty
I use my coated cooling rack

Me too

These sound yummy I will have to try them.

The only silly questions are the ones we donโt ask, right? So, the bacon is raw and get cooked in the hour itโs in the oven… double-checking that it doesnโt need to be cooked first.
Jamie
Yes, it is raw and gets baked on the crackers with the brown sugar.
Teresa
Do you use regular or thick sliced bacon? Looks delicious..
Jamie
I used regular bacon.
Marcy
We are going to tailgate for football. Anyone try this on the grill???
Jamie
I have never tried it. I would be curious if it would work. If you try it, please let me know how it went.
Judy Huset

I need an appetizer for my small wedding that doesn’t require refrigeration. If I made these on the Friday, then stored them air-tight, do you believe they’re ok to serve the next afternoon?
Jamie
Unfortunately, they really do need to be refrigerated. They can be left out at room temperature for about two hours.
Redneck Ingenuity
Just pack them in a cooler with ice(or frozen bottles of water so that you have an ice cold drink as you set up)
Nancy
I went light with the brown sugar and loved how they came out! A unique treat I want to make for or bring yo a get together ๐
Nancy
I used a light sprinkle of brown sugar and added a little dry red chile when done. I can’t wait to share these again soon!
LINDA BOLBY
I think these would be even more delicious with some hot pepper jelly on them.
Florida Cuisine
These are easy to make and a huge crowd pleaser. Gone within minutes of serving them. I did not add brown sugar and still yummy.
Lin
Can these be topped with cheese? And can they be cooked in an air fryer.
Jamie
I’ve had these with Parmesan and CHeddar cheese, too! And yes, they can go in the air fryer. You may need to adjust the time and temp depending on how fast your air fryer cooks.
Christopher Roth
These are amazing. I do a little cayenne powder espresso powder in with the brown sugar
Barbara
So the bacon does not fall off the cracker? When you put in storage container
Jamie
Nope, it should stick to the cracker.
Monika
Looms yummy! Would this work with turkey bacon?
Monika
*looks not looms…lol
Linda
Can you make these in an air fryer?
Jamie
Yes! You may need to adjust the cooking time/temp depending on your air fryer.
Susan
I used the roasting pan that came with my stove. It has a top with holes that drains grease and allows heat to flow both under and over the crackers. I drizzled honey instead of brown sugar. They turned out great, and we’re a great appetizer for our Thanksgiving celebration. B
Deanna
I wanted to cut down on the fat, so i partially cooked the bacon just a bit to drain some of the fat.
They are still addictive and delicious, but the bacon slides off the cracker! If I hadn’t precooked the bacon, would the fat hold it onto the cracker? Do I need more brown sugar? What makes it stick to the cracker?
Jamie
Yes, the combination of fat from the bacon and sugar melting is what holds it onto the cracker.
LilQuahog
Made these as an appetizer for Friendsgiving and did 3 different batches. One with the recipe as is, another with adding cayenne pepper, and the third batch was made as is but I drizzled a little bit of milk chocolate over them. None of them latest long enough to get an idea of which was the favorite. “Required” to make them again for our Christmaa Eve get together
Laura Griggs
I made these as an appetizer for Thanksgiving. They were INHALED in minites by the whole.crew and I wished I had made more. Making again for Christmas by popular demand. This may be a new tradition!

Can I make this in the Airfrier?
Jamie
Yes! Depending on how fast your air fryer cooks, you may need to adjust the cooking time/temp.

Last time I bought club crackers ( 4 months ago) the entire box of crackers were crumble up. Can I use any type of crackers for this recipe
Jamie
Yes, you can use whatever crackers you like or have on hand.
Sandy
Do they have to be Club Crackers? Not sure what they are?
Jamie
Technically, you could use almost any kind of crackers you like or have on hand.
Jay
250 seems kind of low even if it’s for an hour
Jeremy
Try them on a pellet grill if you have one. As good as they are in the oven, they’re better with a little smoke in the flavor.
Wanda Taylor
I am going to try for a New Year dance. I want to also, make with cheese. I just follow same instructions, its justvcheese not brown sugar. I will try both. My first attempt. I will need to make during NY day for dance at night will theyvdo ok
Vickie Dominguez
Really enjoyed these! Thanks for the recipe. I made 3 different kinds, this one with the sugar on top, the other 2 were under the bacon- parmesan and cream cheese. The cream cheese was our least favorite, it was rather plain.
