Monster Cookies: FAQs
If any questions popped up while you were reading this post, hereโs some additional info about this recipe that youโll want to keep in mind!
- Are there any additions or substitutions you recommend?
Ahh, a recipe that has variations … thereโs nothing better! Especially a cookie recipe that has variations. If you want some customization options, try Reeseโs pieces instead of M&Ms or caramel chips instead of chocolate chips. You can also include sprinkles in the batter if you want! I havenโt personally tried anything but the ingredients listed in the recipe, but it doesnโt hurt to experiment! Let me know about it in the comments.
- Can you use crunchy or natural peanut butter instead of the creamy peanut butter?
Youโre gonna want to stick with the creamy kind for this recipe! If you use any other kind you wonโt get that soft and chewy texture that makes monster cookies so wonderful. In fact, natural peanut butter will make these cookies greasy, and you probably donโt want that!
- Can you use salted butter instead of the unsalted butter + salt combination?
Yes!! It shouldnโt make a difference. Use whatever you can find and what you have on hand!
- Can you freeze the dough?
It should last in the freezer for 3 months.
- What about freezing the cookies after baking?
Theyโll last in the freezer for 3 months too!
