Cheese Bombs
I have to tell y’all, as I have gotten older, I have found my mind is not what it used to be. If I don’t make a list, I won’t remember it. Do you ever feel like that too?
Most days, I have so much stuff swirling around in my head between homeschooling my kiddos, running a house, blog stuff, and just life in general. It’s too much info to process and keep straight without lists and calendars.
Wednesday is when our local ads come out. I have a “process” I go through every week. I go through all of the ads and write down things from the circular that I think is a really good deal or things I may want to incorporate into our dinner. Then, I start planning our menu and finish it off with a grocery list.
I usually make my own French Bread because I’m too cheap to buy it …. or at least, that’s my intention!
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve remembered at the very last minute that I forgot to make bread … too many times. That’s when having things like canned biscuits and a cheese block come in handy!
My kiddos think these Garlic Herb Cheese Bombs are “THE BOMB” …. hence the name! 😉
Whether you forget to pick up or make bread for your spaghetti dinner …. or just want a fun and easy appetizer for the holidays or game day – this recipe is a keeper!
These Garlic Herb Cheese Bombs are a tasty and satisfying snack or appetizer that is easy to make and are sure to be a hit with your friends and family. Give this recipe a try and see for yourself just how delicious these cheese bombs can be! 🤩
Garlic Herb Cheese Bombs: Ingredients & Equipment
To make the quick and easy Cheese Bombs, you will need …
Ingredients
- refrigerated biscuits – the dough for the bombs. Choose any kind you like that is close to the same package size.
- Mozzarella cheese – to stuff inside our bombs. You can use almost any cheese you like if you prefer something else.
- butter, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder – this is what combines to create the buttery garlic-herb mixture that gets brushed over the top of the baked bombs.
Equipment
- baking sheet – you’ll need this to bake your bombs on!
- small mixing bowl – to combine your buttery topping.
- pastry brush – to brush your garlic-herb butter over the top of the finished bombs.
How to make Garlic Herb Cheese Bombs
Start by preheating the oven. You will want to set your oven temperature to 400°F.
Next, make the bombs. Separate the biscuits and place a cube of cheese in the center of each biscuit. Carefully wrap the biscuit dough around the cheese and seal and place the bombs seam side down about an inch apart on an ungreased baking sheet.
Bake until golden. Bake for 10 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
Meanwhile, prepare the garlic-herb butter mixture. While the biscuits bake, mix the butter, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder together and set aside.
Finally, brush the butter mixture over the bombs before serving. Remove the biscuits from the oven and immediately brush them with the butter mixture. Serve warm.
Garlic Herb Cheese Bombs: FAQs
Garlic Herb Cheese Bombs are a type of snack or appetizer made by wrapping small balls of cheese in biscuit dough and baking them until the dough is crispy and the cheese is melted and gooey. The dough is often flavored with garlic and herbs to add additional flavor to the dish. These cheese bombs can be served on their own, or with a dipping sauce such as marinara or ranch dressing.
If you want to add a little bit of heat to the dish, you can add some red pepper flakes or hot sauce to the garlic herb mixture before brushing it over the cheese bombs.
Sure! You can experiment with different types of cheese in this recipe. For example, you could use a blend of mozzarella and cheddar, or try using a different type of cheese altogether, such as feta or gorgonzola.
If you don’t have any dried herbs on hand, you can use fresh herbs instead. Simply chop the fresh herbs finely and mix them into the garlic butter mixture before brushing it over the cheese bombs.
If you want to make the cheese bombs even more flavorful, you can add some additional ingredients to the cheese filling, such as chopped bacon, sun-dried tomatoes, or caramelized onions.

Is there an alternative we could use instead of frozen biscuits ? Im not sure what the equivalent would be in Australia :S
Jamie
You can use this recipe as a substitute for the canned biscuits. You will need just slightly more dough than it takes to wrap around the cheese! I hope that helps! 🙂
Pizza!!
Try these with a large marshmallow dipped in butter and then in cinnamon sugar. wrap the biscuits around the marshmallow and bake. Awesome!

So these were delicious, thank you! I almost never buy refrigerated biscuits but Publix had Pillsbury bogo and I had left over cheese slices from a sad company thanksgiving lunch (I’m in medical and worked Thanksgiving) so I decided to try this. Yummy! The only thing I did different was I halved the biscuits into two garlic/herb cheese bombs and then dunked them into the butter/herb mixture before I baked them. Oh, and I used about 1/2 ounce (1/2 slice) of cheese per bomb. Not healthy but hey I believe in cheating every now and then and I’m thinking I’ll do the same thing with the second can of biscuits to go with the turkey soup.
